Since Bell recently discontinued the BlackBerry Storm 9530 from their lineup, they are ready to move to the sequel, the Blackberry Storm2 9550. Bell has set the launch date for the Storm2 for Tuesday, April 13th. We’ll probably see a launch promo price since TELUS is selling the device for $199.99 with a three year deal. Otherwise expext to shell out $549.95 without a contract.

BIS 3.0 went live this weekend in North America. We were all waiting for the BIS 3.0 launch for one reason. 2-way Gmail Read/Unread synchronization. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until Spring 2010 for this feature, which isn’t too far off.
There are some minor features that you can look forward to today including Open Document support and the ability to create and delete Gmail labels from your BlackBerry.
Here is the full list of enhancements:
We mentioned a few weeks ago how that Verizon and Skype would be partnering to bring Skype’s VOIP application to Blackberry. It’s an exclusive deal between the two and now Verizon has a video on their YouTube giving us a peak on how they will be working together.
Could this be the first images caught of the Blackberry Storm3? We cannot confirm the authenticity but this blurry image may fit the bill. The photo is slightly blurry but looks like the rumored body style of the BlackBerry Slider or otherwise known as the possible Blackberry Storm3.
Below are some rumored specs for the Storm3:
It’s a sad time here at Blackberry Storm Front. We knew the day would come, just not sure when. According to a tipster,Verizon is discontinuing sales of the Blackberry Storm1 9530 (other models as well). The original Blackberry Storm was listed among other devices as, “Current devices with limited or no remaining shipments from the vendor”. There are still supplies left so you can still pick one up for nostalgia purposes. Obviously the device will still be supported through Verizon should you have any issues, just no more new sales once inventory is depleted.
Keep in mind this hasn’t been confirmed by Verizon but it makes perfect sense. The good news is we still have the Storm2 and the Storm3 is currently in development. So, shed some tears (or not) and then look to the future for better and more current Blackberry touchscreen devices!
